Collaborative Research Capacity Grant program
The Building Collaborative Research Capacity program is a project of the Community Engagement and Research Program (CERP) which will test the use of grants to community-based organizations (CBOs) to build their capacity to collaborate with academic researchers. This project provides four CBOs with $30,000, training and technical assistance over two years to build their capacity to develop a research grant proposal. The selected CBOs are; AIDS Alliance for Faith and Health, Atlanta Lesbian Health Initiative, BPSOS, and Phoebe Putney Cancer Center. This innovative community engagement model is being evaluated using self-administered pre and post surveys and focus groups to demonstrate its impact on collaborative research capacity and provide lessons for future programs.
