Call for Project Papers
The NHLBI announced an RFA for Supported Centers for Population Health and Health Disparities in cardiovascular diseases, due May 29. The RFA calls for an administrative core, 3-5 related projects, and a training component. At least one of the projects must involve the development of a multilevel intervention to reduce health disparities in cardiovascular disease or CVD risk factors. The group working on the RFA requests that interested teams put forth projects for consideration. Please send a 1-2 page concept of project paper, which includes names of your key team members, brief project background, specific aims and hypotheses, and a section on preliminary data or what experience you have already had in working in your target population/project, and send Ms. Sherri McDonald, Dr. Abhinav Goyal , and Dr. Arshed Quyyumi ASAP. This effort will include investigator teams from multiple disciplines, including from the social sciences, public health, clinical sciences, and basic sciences. This effort will also include several member institutions of the ACTSI, including Emory University (School of Medicine, School of Public Health, Children's Hospital, Predictive Health Initiative, Yerkes, etc.), Morehouse School of Medicine, and Kaiser Permanente Georgia.
