Pediatric researchers at Emory and MSM have experience in investigator-initiated projects that are focused on the community, particularly in areas of health disparities and underserved population. These community-based studies are supported by federal funds as well as other agencies, foundations and industry. Pediatrics interacts closely with the Community Engagement Research Program, which is directed by a pediatrician, Dr. Dan Blumenthal, and will employ similar approaches to those discussed for that program. This program is a major focus of the Community Outreach Subcommittee of Pediatrics.
