Studio Consultations
The CIN in collaboration with the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, & Research Design (BERD) program and Biomedical Informatics Program (BIP) of the ACTSI is now pleased to offer studio consultations to all supported and new investigators of the ACTSI. The purpose of the studio consultation is to interact early with specialists in clinical study design and analysis to allow for successful implementation of their research projects.
A "studio" consultation is a term coined by the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, & Research Design (BERD) core of Vanderbilt's CTSA program. A studio represents a meeting between a clinical investigator and representatives of the analytic cores of ACTSI, namely ACTSI's BERD core, BIP, and the CIN. A studio offers the investigator an opportunity to present an outline of the proposed research and obtain targeted input regarding support from BERD, BIP, and CIN that will aid in the design, implementation, and analysis associated with the proposed study in order to maximize competitiveness, accuracy, and reproducibility. In short, the studio meeting offers a one-stop assessment of a proposed research project in order to outline a detailed plan of action for research success including identification of the necessary expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, comprehensive informatics, and clinical information systems required for a successful project.
