CR-Assist Printer/Label/Scanner Requirements
CR-Assist and the CIN Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS) are configured to work together to support CIN investigator’s sample procurement activities. Study coordinators can print sample collection tube labels from CR-Assist. Each label carries a barcode which uniquely identifies a specimen. After the sample has been collected and dropped off at a CIN processing lab, the barcode is ready to be scanned into LIMS which tells the system that a specific specimen has been received. To utilize this feature, a study coordinator must print the labels using a compatible printer on the correct label stock, and the labels should be scanned with a compatible scanner.
