CIN Policies and Procedures

Policy on Inactivating Studies with No Activity over a Six Month Period

The CIN is dedicated to assuring high quality human subject research in a safe and appropriate setting. For studies to be conducted appropriately, continuous activity is important for all support staff and for the research coordinators and investigators. To help achieve these goals, studies with no human subject activity in a six month period will no longer be able to be scheduled. The principal investigator and designated study contact will be notified when studies are inactivated.

To reactivate a study, the investigator or designee must contact the CR-Assist Administrator (Audrey Kelly, 404-712-2901 or audrey.kelly@emoryhealthcare.org) to schedule an in-service with the appropriate CIN staff (i.e. nursing, lab, bionutrtion) and update the day-to-day orders and IRB approvals as needed. Once the study is reactivated, scheduling participants in CR-Assist can be re-initiated.
