Research Nursing Alliance
Vision Statement
The Research Nursing Alliance unites the expertise of the Clinical Interaction Network of the ACTSI to become the premier model research nursing alliance for NIH CTSA sites.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Research Nursing Alliance of the Clinical Interaction Network (CIN) of the Atlanta Clinical & Translational Science Institute (ACTSI) is to create synergistic, collaborative partnerships whose purpose is to promote standards of excellence in healthcare and research.
Goals
- Increase communication and interaction among the tiers of the CIN and Nursing Alliance sites
- Create new research tools and employ new information technologies
- Provide resources and develop educational tools
- Develop nursing research projects that facilitate goals
The Research Nursing Alliance has representation from Emory, Kaiser Permanente Georgia, Morehouse School of Medicine, the Veterans Administration Hospital, and Children’s, with representation within the International Association of Clinical Research Nurses (IACRN) and the national Clinical Research Center (CRC) at NIH working to define the scope and practice for research nurses including recruitment and retention, research data collection, quality improvement, and ongoing educational requirements. With nurses credentialed at multiple healthcare sites, the RNA supports multiple investigators and projects across the ACTSI partner institutions with a flexible “floating” pool of nurses.
