Partnership Opportunities for Educational Symposia in Translational Technologies
Translational Technologies and Resources (TTR) is pleased to announce a plan to co-sponsor educational symposia and events related to translational technologies in research. One major objective of the TTR program is to enhance collaborative opportunities and awareness of new technologies and research methodologies as well as their potential multi-disciplinary applications. Limited funds ($5000  $10,000 per event) are available through the TTR program for co-sponsorship of educational events that align with the program objectives within the ACTSI partnership - Emory, Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia Tech, and CHOA - with emphasis on: genomics, imaging, immunology, molecular screening technologies, and animal models of human disease. Emory Molecular and Translational lmaging Research Center (EMTIC) RFA
The P20 EMTIC Pilot Project program offers opportunities for both trainees and established scientists to acquire preliminary data in the quantitative molecular imaging arena on which to base competitive future R01 proposals. Pilot Projects would be supported at the level of $25,000/year total costs per pilot project.
Duration of Award: 1 year (up to 2 yrs possible)

MINIGRANTS FOR ENGAGED SCHOLARSHIP AND LEARNING
Deadline: April 14 for Summer and/or Fall 2008 grants Emory's Office of University-Community Partnerships is now soliciting proposals from Emory faculty (tenure track and non-tenure track) for seed grant assistance for community-focused and/or community-based teaching and research activities. Grants of up to $2,500 for projects adding an experiential learning component to a course and grants of up to $5,000 for research projects providing a direct and tangible benefit to communities in the greater Atlanta area. They are especially interested in projects that allow students to gain first-hand experience with real world issues, engage in some type of research activity, and provide assistance to the local community in addressing an important problem, opportunity, or need.
